free write from 3.3 meeting

look the elixir is hidden in the poison
look, feel...look closer
stand back, allow the ruby precious gem
of your Self Soul Essence to emerge

look, the elixir is in the poison
the poison, what is the poison?
what is the poison?

the poison of...
self degradation
depravation
dehydration
abdication
rejection

the poison of illusion
what is the elixir
all i sense, feel, see is the poison

the poison of the heartbreak
when love breaks down
this is the poison
when love breaks down
when the isness isn't
are my eyes to blame?
am i missing the hidden wholeness
the perfect imperfection
in this ordering?

where does the elixir live?
in reconciling the self
come return to the root of the root of your own self
reveal the diamond in the rough

that has been me
the diamond rough
hidden in the barren land
amidst the tumbled weeds
the discarded junk
abandoned mobiles

the diamond in the rough
the diamond in the rough
the elixir is in the poison
return to the root

falling...following down
down, down
i fear the falling into the poison
fear that i won't find the elixir in time
breathing through a lifetime of rejection

where will the diamond live?
what setting will present the
glory
brilliance
beauty
wholeness of her?

she belongs
she belongs
she belongs
to the mystic's heart
at home in the sacred heart
the elixir is in the poison
return.

Planting the Seeds

Of all the wonderful things in the wonderful universe of God, nothing seems to me more surprising than the planting of a seed in the blank earth and the result thereof. Take that Poppy seed, for instance: it lies in your palm, the merest atom of matter, hardly visible, a speck, a pin's point in bulk, but within it is imprisoned a spirit of beauty ineffable, which will break its bonds and emerge from the dark ground and blossom in a splendor so dazzling as to baffle all powers of description.

MOTHER LOVE

SHE reaches out to embrace me
with absolute love, an emerald green
and placid stream, a shimmering dark mirror.

SHE reaches inside me with
glowing red-gold intensity.
Her iridescent waterfalls and
desert sand patterns
spell out, guidance.

The sound of her bells
ring in the distance,
awaken me from a confusing dream.

SHE washes my feet
with her own spit
and I am cleansed from
centuries of karmic suffering.

SHE stares intently into my mind
unsettling my little thoughts
causing a rock slide,
a new discover of what
I may become.

SHE BELIEVES IN ME

This revelation launches a
thousand ships in my heart,
initiates migrations of butterflies,
a million tiny seeds germinate,
because my mother loves me.

holy ground of love

From a conversation with my friend Cathy this morning, "for someone to reveal their pain, hurt, fear & anger in relationship is a form of sacred intimacy and reveals and invites a deeper trust...as lovers and partners we can hold a space of grace and unconditional love as our beloved walks through the darkness & finds the gold. This is the holy ground of love. This is a sacred gift we offer to our lover."

MATINS

1-1-2010

1
Somewhere, out at the edges, the night
Is turning and the waves of darkness
Begin to brighten the shore of dawn

The heavy dark falls back to earth
And the freed air goes wild with light,
The heart fills with fresh, bright breath
And thoughts stir the air to give birth to color.

2
I arise today

In the name of Silence
Womb of the Word,
In the name of Stillness
Home of Belonging,
In the name of the Solitude
Of the Soul and the Earth.

I arise today

Blessed by all things,
Wings of breath,
Delight of eyes,
Wonder of whisper,
Intimacy of touch,
Eternity of soul,
Urgency of thought,
Miracle of health,
Embrace of God.

May I live this day

Compassionate of heart,
Clear of word,
Gracious in awareness
Courageous in thought,
Generous in love.
